GREENVILLE, Pa.-- Area residents are invited to celebrate the sixth annual opening of the Rissell-Schreyer Dome from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4 at Alumni Stadium in Greenville, Pa. This event is free and open to the public.
The family-friendly Dome opening celebration features a variety of activities. Food, music, custom novelties and a paintball style game that uses foam projectiles will be available as part of the opening. Inflatable attractions will be part of the entertainment. Admission is free, but community members must purchase tickets for food and certain activities.
The Dome will be open for community access again this winter and spring. Dome access is free for community members who would like to use the facility for walking. Access for walkers is Monday through Friday, 8 to 11 a.m. The Dome closes during all school breaks. The driving range will be available in early January when students return for the spring semester. Golf access is from 8 to 11 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
“The Dome opener has become a great tradition at Thiel College,” Director of Student Activities and Involvement Than Oo, M.S., said. “The community can come see this impressive structure and take part in some fun activities. The community can then join us throughout the winter to get the benefits of being active without having to face the harsh northwestern Pennsylvania weather.”
For the safety of community members and Thiel College’s student-athletes, the Dome is closed to the public during varsity athletic practices.
