College places 100 percent of its accounting graduates for third straight year

GREENVILLE, Pa.-- The Thiel College Arthur McGonigal Department of Business Administration and Accounting has achieved 100 percent job placement for its 2016 accounting major graduates.

This marks the third year in a row in which all accounting majors have found jobs in their field within six months of graduation. Institutionally, over 94 percent of all Thiel College graduates from the past three years who reported were placed in jobs or graduate school.

“We are very proud of the success our accounting majors have achieved over the past several years,” Professor of Business Administration and Accounting and Department Chair Gary Witosky ’79 said. “It is truly a reflection of the dedicated work of our students, faculty, support staff and alumni—both inside and outside of the classroom. Our students are provided direct access to numerous employers seeking accounting graduates and interns. We also have a robust internship program that provides opportunities for our students to gain real-world experience, often leading directly to job opportunities. In fact, nearly half of next year’s graduating class returned to campus in September with a job offer waiting for them after they graduate!”

The largest department at Thiel College, the Arthur McGonigal Department of Business Administration and Accounting offers majors in accounting; forensic accounting; business administration; international business; and public relations, advertising and integrated marketing communication. It also offers programs in culinary management, fashion management and mortuary science.

“At Thiel, our accounting students are some of the most sought-after in the entire region,” Associate Dean of Career Development Martin Black said. “After the close instruction, programming and mentoring by our superb faculty, along with career road trips, a mock interview program, multiple internships and an award-winning senior seminar, our students are fully prepared to enter the workforce.”
