GREENVILLE, Pa.—The faculty of Thiel College is pleased to announce that three student scholars have been selected to be honored as April Students of the Month 2014.
Susannah Haines (left above), of Linesville, PA is a senior environmental science major at Thiel College who has been on the Dean’s list each semester. She was the recipient of the Thomas J. Brazelton memorial Geology Award in 2012 and 2013, and is currently an intern at the Erie National Wildlife Refuge. On campus, she is secretary of the Environmental Club participating in campus clean-up days, recycle mania, and the Relay for Life. She has volunteered at the local library, the Boy Scouts of America, as a youth soccer coach, and at the food bank in her church. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Haines.
Calla Parker (center) is a senior medical technology major from Hermitage, PA. With a minor in chemistry and medical biology, Calla is currently completing her clinical year in her major. She is a member of Beta Beta Beta, the national honorary society for students of the biological sciences in addition to Sigma Tau Delta, the English honor society, where she most recently served on the editorial board of The Phoenix, Thiel College’s literary magazine. She also participated on the dance team in 2011-12. She is the daughter of Mr. Walter Parker.
Joy Tubero (right), of Brooklyn Heights, OH is a senior with a major in business administration who is currently participating in the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science Capstone Program. As a member of the Dietrich Honors Institute (DHI) at Thiel College, she recently completed a project for presentation at the DHI Honors Symposium on the history of the buildings on the Thiel college campus. She is a member of Les Lauriers, the senior honorary, in addition to Pi Nu Epsilon, the national music society honorary, and Zeta Tau Alpha. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tubero.
