A total of 42 Thiel College student-athletes were named to the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll for their performance in the classroom during the fall 2013 semester.
The 44th annual Phi Theta Phi Fraternity Walk-a-thon for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh’s Free Care Fund is Dec. 6 and 7. Over the course of the event’s history, Phi Theta Phi has raised more than $1.25 million for the fund. This year’s goal is $40,000.
Members of Restorative Justice course at Thiel College visited the Greenville Community Court at the District Judge’s Office in Greenville, Pa., on Feb. 19 and witnessed firsthand Pennsylvania’s balanced and restorative justice legislative mandates.
Thiel College will host free Financial Aid Nights on Feb. 12 and 19 in Thiel’s Academic Center. Area high school students and their parents are invited to attend one of these informative sessions to learn about the college financial aid process and receive personal one-on-one assistance with filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
This spring, the Faculty Executive Committee of Thiel College will host the Thiel Forum Initiative each month through April. Each Forum is presented from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Sawhill-Georgian Room of the Howard Miller Student Center.
The Thiel Choir is hitting the road for its annual spring tour in March. Each year, under the direction of Dr. Michael Bray, director of choral activities, and accompanied by pianist Kathryn A. Gray, the student choir performs a largely a cappella program in Lutheran churches throughout the eastern United States.
Three Thiel College women will be packing their bags for a summer abroad after earning Vira I. Heinz Scholarships for Women in Global Leadership, which were awarded in December 2012.
The public is invited to celebrate the opening of the Rissell-Schreyer Dome and all things Thiel College at I Heart Thiel Day on Dec. 7, 4-9 p.m., in Thiel’s Rissell-Schreyer Dome at Alumni Stadium in Greenville, Pa. This annual event is free and open to the public.
