Eclectic chamber music quartet Brooklyn Rider will perform with world-class clarinetist Benjamin Fingland at Thiel College’s David Johnson Memorial Chapel at 7 p.m. Nov. 17. The performance is part of the College’s Con Spirito Chamber Music Series.
The curtain goes up on the Thiel Players’ first fall production, “The Guys,” on Sept. 11-12. The play by Anne Nelson will be performed in the College’s William A. Robinson Theater. Opening night of the production takes place on the 14th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, a central point for the story.
Thiel College Assistant Professor of Performing Arts Pete Rydberg, Ph.D., and rising junior Austin Hall are collaborating on a research-based literary project. It will ultimately yield a historical stage drama exploring the events that led to the Nazi Party’s rise to power in post-World War I Germany.

Thiel College presents the Dorian Wind Quintet in concert at the David Johnson Memorial Chapel at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 24. This event is free and open to the public.
The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra “swings” into Thiel College’s Passavant Center, at 8 p.m. Dec. 2. The Glenn Miller Orchestra, famous for such tunes as “In the Mood,” “Pennsylvania 6500,” and “Moonlight Serenade” became popular during the “swing era” of the 1940s, and remains one of the most sought after big bands in the world.
The Thiel Tomcat Marching Pride hosted one of the largest contingents of high school musicians the event has had for its Fifth Annual Thiel Band Day on Saturday with 137 students representing more than 50 high schools and three states.
