The 45th annual Phi Theta Phi Fraternity Walk-a-thon for Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh’s Free Care Fund is Dec. 5 and 6. Over the course of the event’s history, Phi Theta Phi has raised more than $1.25 million for the fund. This year’s goal is $35,000.
The public is invited to celebrate the fifth annual opening of the Rissell-Schreyer Dome from 5-10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5 at Alumni Stadium in Greenville, Pa. This event is free and open to the public.
The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra “swings” into Thiel College’s Passavant Center, at 8 p.m. Dec. 2. The Glenn Miller Orchestra, famous for such tunes as “In the Mood,” “Pennsylvania 6500,” and “Moonlight Serenade” became popular during the “swing era” of the 1940s, and remains one of the most sought after big bands in the world.
The Thiel Tomcat Marching Pride hosted one of the largest contingents of high school musicians the event has had for its Fifth Annual Thiel Band Day on Saturday with 137 students representing more than 50 high schools and three states.
Edinboro University of Pennsylvania professor and author Malcolm Christhilf is displaying his paintings “Form and Color” at Thiel College’s Weyers-Sampson Gallery until Dec. 3.
Thiel College’s Con Spirito Chamber Music Concert Series will feature the internationally recognized and critically-acclaimed Brentano Quartet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 at the campus’s David Johnson Memorial Chapel.
Washington D.C.-businessman and movie producer James Pedas ’50 H’89 will attend the dedication of the $6.8 million James Pedas Communication Center at Thiel College at 11 a.m. Saturday during his alma mater’s Homecoming festivities.
Thiel College invites alumni, students, staff and friends of the college to participate in the traditions and pageantry of Homecoming. The 2014 celebration, “Discover the Difference,” is from Oct. 3-5.
