Thiel College announced today that David E. Baughman, a Greenville native and life-long resident of the borough who passed away on Nov. 8, 2012, bequeathed $3.7 million to the college.
Thiel College invites the community to learn about “Caring for the Earth’s Energy” during the 15th annual Earth Week celebration, April 8 through 11. All Earth Week events are free and open to the public. Events are held in the Lutheran Heritage Room of the Howard Miller Student Center on Thiel’s campus unless noted otherwise.
Members of Restorative Justice course at Thiel College visited the Greenville Community Court at the District Judge’s Office in Greenville, Pa., on Feb. 19 and witnessed firsthand Pennsylvania’s balanced and restorative justice legislative mandates.
Dr. Louis Zona, executive director of the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio, will present “300 Years of American Art” at Thiel College on March 27 at 7 p.m. in the Lutheran Heritage Room of the Howard Miller Student Center. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Thiel College will host free Financial Aid Nights on Feb. 12 and 19 in Thiel’s Academic Center. Area high school students and their parents are invited to attend one of these informative sessions to learn about the college financial aid process and receive personal one-on-one assistance with filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The Thiel Choir is hitting the road for its annual spring tour in March. Each year, under the direction of Dr. Michael Bray, director of choral activities, and accompanied by pianist Kathryn A. Gray, the student choir performs a largely a cappella program in Lutheran churches throughout the eastern United States.
The public is invited to celebrate the opening of the Rissell-Schreyer Dome and all things Thiel College at I Heart Thiel Day on Dec. 7, 4-9 p.m., in Thiel’s Rissell-Schreyer Dome at Alumni Stadium in Greenville, Pa. This annual event is free and open to the public.
The joyful sounds of the holiday season will ring through Thiel College’s William A. Passavant Center for the 60th year during the annual Thiel College Christmas Festival on Dec. 2 at 4 p.m. The Christmas Festival is free and open to the public.
