The joyful sounds of the holiday season will ring through Thiel College’s William A. Passavant Center for the 61st year during the annual Thiel College Christmas Festival on Dec.8 at 4 p.m. The Christmas Festival is free and open to the public.
President, CEO and CFO of Washington Tool & Machine Company, David R. Andrews ‘63, received an honorary doctor of humanities degree at the Thiel College Honors Convocation on Nov. 8 in Greenville, Pa.
Dr. Louis Zona, executive director of the Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, Ohio, will present “20th Century American Art” at Thiel College on Nov. 13 at 7 p.m. in the Lutheran Heritage Room of the Howard Miller Student Center. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Joe Roosa, president of Roosa Corporation, will receive the 2013 Haller Enterprise Institute Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Thiel College at a dinner ceremony on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the Sawhill-Georgian Room of Thiel’s Howard Miller Student Center.
Thiel College presents world-renowned soprano, Layla Claire, in concert at the David Johnson Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. Layla Claire is a regular soloist with the world’s leading orchestras.
Montgomery will serve as the Greenville Neuromodulation Scholar of Neuroscience and Philosophy, beginning in fall 2013. A fellowship-trained Movement Disorders Specialist who has established deep brain stimulation (DBS) programs at major medical centers and universities throughout the country and has treated more than 10,000 patients with Parkinson’s disease, Montgomery was also named Medical Director of the Greenville Neuromodulation Center (GNC) in June.
Thiel College announced today that David E. Baughman, a Greenville native and life-long resident of the borough who passed away on Nov. 8, 2012, bequeathed $3.7 million to the college.
Thiel College invites the community to learn about “Caring for the Earth’s Energy” during the 15th annual Earth Week celebration, April 8 through 11. All Earth Week events are free and open to the public. Events are held in the Lutheran Heritage Room of the Howard Miller Student Center on Thiel’s campus unless noted otherwise.
