Thiel College, a leading liberal arts college in northwest Pennsylvania, announces the appointment of Elizabeth Frombgen, Ph.D., as its new Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the College. Frombgen follows Lynn Franken, Ph.D., who is retiring at the end of this academic year.
From the worldwide issue of melting ice, to songs from around the world, the changing climate is the focus of the 19th annual Earth Week celebration April 10-12 at Thiel College, a leading liberal arts college in northwest Pennsylvania. All events are free and open to the public. This year’s theme is climate change.
Fraternities and sororities at Thiel College (www.thiel.edu) are holding their annual Greek week competition where each chapter promotes unity through friendly competition at events each day of the week. The western Pennsylvania college has three national fraternities (Delta Sigma Phi, Kappa Sigma and Sigma Phi Epsilon), four national sororities (Alpha Xi Delta, Chi Omega, Sigma Kappa and Zeta Tau Alpha) and one local fraternity (Phi Theta Phi).
The Community Medical Ethics Project announces Director of the Center for Ethics and Policy at Carnegie Mellon University Alex John London, Ph.D., will be the presenter for the project’s upcoming seminar.
Internationally acclaimed musician Lauren Pelon will perform in a unique concert, titled “Earth Tones,” at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in the Thiel College David Johnson Memorial Chapel.
The Thiel Players at Thiel College will present “Avenue Q,” the winner of the 2004 “Tony Triple Crown” for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book, on April 21-23 at the William A. Robinson Theater. The play features mature themes and language and is Rated R.
The women’s advocacy group Women Inspiring the Next Generation will bring regional high school juniors and seniors to campus Thursday, March 30 for its annual leadership conference.
Thiel College fraternity Kappa Sigma begins its longstanding military friendly philanthropy Monday with a direct connection to the armed services as one the organization’s members is on active duty in Afghanistan.
