BARR ELECTED TO THIEL COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES

GREENVILLE, PA — Thiel College elected John Barr of Pittsford, N.Y., to its Board of Trustees during the February Board meeting.

Barr is the chief marketing officer for Hillside Family of Agencies, a nonprofit human service agency headquartered in Rochester, N.Y. Prior to his appointment at Hillside, Barr worked in sales and marketing for 28 years at Eastman Kodak Company. Along with Thiel College, he is on the boards of Rochester Advertising Council, Mary Cariola Children’s Center and Rochester Hearing and Speech Center. Barr is a 1970 graduate of Thiel College and will serve on the board’s advancement committee.

“Thiel is an outstanding college that not only enjoys a rich past but sees a wonderful future in its sights,” said Barr. “I am honored to join President Van Aken, the trustees and the Thiel family to preserve and build upon its legacy.”

The Board of Trustees is responsible for the oversight of the college; adopting rules, regulations and policies governing Thiel; and exercising authority over curricular development, use of property, development of facilities and fiscal and human resources management.
