THIEL COLLEGE CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION WEEK 2012

GREENVILLE, PA Thiel College celebrates international education—both international students at Thiel and Thiel students studying out in the world—during this special week. Come learn about how you can explore the world at Thiel!

Most events are free (except for the International Food Fair) and events marked with an asterisk are open to the public.

Sunday, Nov. 11

*INTERNATIONAL FOOD FAIR
Howard Miller Student Center, Galleria, 4:30-7 p.m.
This annual dinner is prepared by Thiel’s international students and provides the opportunity to expand the taste buds by trying foods from all over the world. Cost is $8.25 (without Thiel meal plan) and $4 for children under age of 10.

Monday, Nov. 12

STUDY ABROAD RESOURCE FAIR
HMSC, Galleria Entrance, Noon-1 p.m.
Interested in traveling or studying abroad? Stop by and pick up information about study abroad options available through Thiel, how to apply for a passport, scholarships/grant program options for study abroad and more!

*TRAVEL 101 PRESENTATION
Academic Center (AC) 129, 4-5 p.m.
HI-USA presents need-to-know facts about traveling.

*SOLO WOMEN TRAVELING PRESENTATION
Academic Center (AC) 129, 5-6 p.m.
HI-USA gives important pointers to women who will be traveling alone.

WHERE IN THE WORLD
HMSC, Bistro, 3-5 p.m.
Stop by and learn how to make your mark on the world. Students are encouraged to think about countries that they’d like to learn more about or would like to visit. Also offered on Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m.

Tuesday, November 13

*MINI-LANGUAGE LESSONS
HMSC, Weyers Lounge, 2-3 p.m. & 4-5 p.m.
International students will teach a couple of key phrases in a new language! You’ll also be able to learn more about their customs, culture and traditions.

Wednesday, November 14

STUDY ABROAD RESOURCE FAIR
HMSC, Galleria Entrance, 2-3 p.m.
Interested in traveling or studying abroad? Stop by and pick up information about study abroad options available through Thiel, how to apply for a passport, scholarships/grant program options for study abroad and more!

A “CZECHTASTIC” STUDY ABROAD
Sawhill-Georgian Room, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Cole Blaise is a college student who created a web-series about his study abroad experience in the Czech Republic and Europe that explores the highs and lows of his experience through humor. Information on culture shock and reverse culture shock will be available.

Thursday, Nov. 15

INTERNATIONAL MOSAIC
HMSC, Weyers Lounge, 3-4 p.m.
Students can “spice up” their creativity with different arts and crafts from around the world. Mini-cultural workshops also will be offered.

Friday, Nov. 16

INTERNATIONAL MOSAIC
HMSC Bistro, 3-4 p.m.
Students can “spice up” their creativity with different arts and crafts from around the world. Mini-cultural workshops also will be offered.

LIGHT UP THE SKY
Freshman Quad, 6 p.m.
Wrap up International Education Week with this unique Asian cultural tradition—we will be setting off Sky Lanterns, also known as Kongming or Chinese Lanterns, while enjoying different types of International hot teas.
