COMMUNITY MEMBERS INVITED TO “WEAR IT OUT” AT THIEL COLLEGE
Feb. 15, 2011
GREENVILLE, PA –As part of its yearly participation in RecycleMania, Thiel College is hosting its annual “Wear It Out” competition on March 24 at 8 to 10 p.m. in the Lutheran Heritage Room of the Howard Miller Student Center. The Greenville community is encouraged to attend and even participate along with Thiel’s students and faculty. This event is free and open to the public.
RecycleMania is a friendly national competition for college and university recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities to their campus communities. At the Wear It Out competition, participants will model an outfit made completely of recyclable materials. Outfits can be made from materials such as soda cans, light bulbs, trash bags, card board, candy wrappers and much more. Designers can be their own models or chose another person to model their outfits.
A panel of judges composed of Thiel staff will choose a first, second and third place in an “American Idol” style judging. Winners will receive prizes—$100 for first place, a $50 Wal-Mart gift card for second place and a $25 Sheetz gift card for third place.
Anyone who would like to participate in the event must register by March 4.
