THIEL COLLEGE ENGLISH HONORARY TO INDUCT SEVEN Feb. 28, 2011 GREENVILLE, PA –On Sunday, March 20 at 2 p.m., seven students will be inducted into the Alpha Iota Kappa chapter of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honorary society, at Thiel College during a special ceremony in the Sawhill-Georgian Room of the Howard Miller Student Center. Friends and family of the inductees are invited to attend the ceremony. The students to be inducted include junior Alison Lange (English Writing) of Sharpsville, Pa.; senior Zachary Markley (Media Communications) of East Orwell, Ohio; junior Erica Riola (Elementary Education) of Streetsboro, Ohio; sophomore Keisha Shaw (Political Science) of Hellam, Pa.; sophomore Diana Slomainy (Elementary Education) of Arnold, Pa.; junior Timothy Taylor (Communication Sciences and Disorders) of Girard, Pa.; and sophomore Emily Whipple (English) of Rochester, Pa. Officers for 2011-2012 were installed and are Amy Jane Matchett, president, of Bulger, Pa.; Abigail Charsar, vice president, of Sharpsville, Pa.; Emily Whipple, secretary; Diana Slomainy, treasurer; and Beth Yurky, student government representative, of Indiana, Pa. Lisa Walton, J.D., assistant professor of political science, sociology and criminal justice studies at Thiel College, will serve as the keynote speaker. Dr. Mary Theresa Hall, of the Thiel College English Department, has served as the group’s adviser since its formation in 2000.
