2011 Thiel Choir Tour




	Home Thiel Headline News Experts and Speakers Graphics Standards Public Relations Office T-Notes Today at Thiel		THIEL CHOIR ANNOUNCES SPRING 2011 TOUR DATES Feb. 28, 2011 GREENVILLE, PA – The Thiel Choir is hitting the road for its annual spring tour this month. Each year, under the direction of Dr. Michael Bray, director of choral activities, and accompanied by pianist Kathryn A. Gray, the student choir performs a largely a cappella program in Lutheran churches throughout the eastern United States. This year, the choir will perform works by Scarlatti, Stopford, Haydn, Rutter, Fedak, Courtney and Lutheran composers Robert Wetzler ’54 and F. Melius Christiansen as well as arrangements of spirituals, folk songs and hymns. Tour dates and locations are: Friday, March 4: 7 p.m., Good Hope Lutheran Church, Oil City, Pa. Saturday, March 5: 6 p.m. (service with concert following), St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Wayne, N.J. Sunday, March 6: 9 and 11 a.m. (services), The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine, New York, N.Y. Sunday, March 6: 7 p.m., Trinity Lutheran Church, Staten Island, N.Y. Wednesday, March 9: 7:30 p.m. (Ash Wednesday service with concert following), St. John’s Lutheran Church, Coplay, Pa. Thursday, March 10: 7 p.m., New Hope Lutheran Church, Spring Mills, Pa. Friday, March 11: 7 p.m., Berkeley Hills Lutheran Church, Pittsburgh, Pa. Saturday, March 12: 6:30 p.m. (service with concert following), Trinity Lutheran Church, Butler, Pa. Friday, March 18: 7:30 p.m., David Johnson Memorial Chapel, Thiel College, Greenville, Pa. Sunday, March 20: 10:45 a.m. (worship service), Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenville, Pa.
