THIEL COLLEGE INDUCTS 14 INTO ALPHA CHI, ACADEMIC HONORARY SOCIETY April 4, 2011
GREENVILLE, PA—Thiel College inducted 14 students into Alpha Chi, an academic honorary for students with high academic standing regardless of major, on April 1 in the college's Howard Miller Student Center. students inducted into the theta chapter include: Yasuhiro Akiyama, a senior psychology major from Japan Sarah Conte, a junior psychology and sociology major from Russellton, Pa. Laura Davin, a senior communication sciences & disorders major from Bethel Park, Pa. Kristin Fedorczyk, a senior biology and conservation biology major from Greenville, Pa. Duranna Fretts, a senior biology and psychology major from Grove City, Pa. Scott Hunkus, a junior actuarial studies and mathematics major from Kinsman, Ohio Jacquelyne Kinney, a junior business communication and e-commerce major from Southview, Pa. Kasey Landis, a junior biology major from Williamsfield, Ohio. Shawna McIntyre, a senior political science and English major from Jackson Center, Pa. Kristen Moreland, a senior fine art and accounting major from Dover, Ohio Kaitlyn O'Connell, a senior business administration and international business major from Cyclone, Pa. David Owens, a junior sociology and psychology major from Polk, Pa. Robert Shew, a senior business administration major from Mogadore, Ohio Kayla Turek, a senior conservation biology major from Canfield, Ohio Alpha Chi is a national honorary fraternity that recognizes those students who have achieved high academic standing. On the campuses that have Alpha Chi chapters, it is the highest academic honor that can be awarded. Membership is open to juniors with a grade point average of 3.7 and class rank in the top five percent and seniors with a grade point average of 3.6 and class rank in the top 10 percent.
