THIEL COLLEGE MOURNS LOSS OF STUDENT

GREENVILLE, PA – The Thiel College community is in mourning after learning of the sudden and unexpected passing of a first-year student during the weekend.
Louis Patrick Giuntini, 18, a native of Carnegie, Pa., passed away at his home on Saturday, Sept. 18. Giuntini was a 2010 graduate of Chartiers Valley High School, a member of the Thiel football team and a history/secondary education major.
“The passing of a young person like Louis who had such a promising future is a tragedy for his friends and family and the entire Thiel College community,” said Thiel College President Dr. Troy VanAken. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Louis’ parents and family during this difficult time.”
Members of the Student Life, Campus Ministry and Counseling Offices at Thiel are providing counseling and grief services for students and employees. A memorial service for Giuntini will be held on campus in early October.
