Thiel College Announces Community Building Initiative Schedule Oct. 7, 2010 GREENVILLE, PA—Thiel College’s Community Building Initiative is back this fall with some changes to its format and schedule. During the academic year, the CBI will offer a community event, speaker, festival and workshop each semester, for a total of eight events during the year. “This new format will give CBI attendees a chance to mingle and connect with their community members while enjoying a communal experience,” said Allen Morrill, director of the Langenheim Memorial Library and CBI co-chair. “We want the CBI to be an opportunity for all our community members to connect to each other and have fun and learn together.” The events for this semester include:
Community Worship has returned to its weekly schedule. Rev. Dr. Derek Nelson, Thiel campus pastor, is offering a 30-minute worship service called “A Good Half-Hour” each Thursday at 12:30 p.m. during the academic year. Community Greening efforts will also continue this year, with special events like RecycleMania and the Wear It Out recycled fashion show returning during the spring semester. The Community Building Initiative, which is in its third year, is aimed at fostering a sense of community and togetherness on Thiel’s campus as well as between Thiel and the greater Greenville community.
