THIEL RECEIVES EITC FUNDS FROM FIRST NATIONAL BANK

GREENVILLE, Pa. – On Feb. 19, Jeffrey Wallace, vice president for commercial lending for First National Bank (pictured above with President Troy D. VanAken), presented Thiel College with a check for $9,000. The funds were donated to the college through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC). 

EITC allows businesses to direct a portion of their tax dollars to support local organizations, which are designated by the state as approved scholarship, educational improvement and/or a pre-kindergarten scholarship organizations. Thiel College is an education improvement organization, providing educational outreach to local K-12 schools through programs such as College for Kids, Thiel Scholars and Earth Week.
