THIEL COLLEGE CHILI CHAMP CROWNED Nov. 20, 2009
GREENVILLE, PA – Denise Urey of Mercer, Pa. (pictured on right), assistant to the registrar in the Thiel College Records Office, was crowned champion of the annual Thiel College Chili Cook-Off on Nov. 19 with her “TBC—Thiel’s Best Chili.” Voters paid $1 to taste and vote for their favorites and all proceeds go to the charity of the winner’s choice—Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Urey also received the “Golden Ladle” trophy. The second-place chili cook was Dr. David Buck, associate professor of history, of Sharon, Pa., and third place was claimed by Jack Leipheimer, director of athletics, of Greenville, Pa. The annual Chili Cook-Off is part of Thiel’s Community Building Initiative.
