THIEL CHOIR TO HOLD "HOME" CONCERT FRIDAY, MARCH 13

GREENVILLE, PA –The Thiel Choir will present its home concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 13 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Penn and Clinton streets, Greenville, concluding the choir’s 56th annual spring tour.
While on tour, the 40-voice choir, under the direction of Dr. Michael Bray, performed at Lutheran churches in Pennsylvania and Ohio.
The concert will feature works by Giovanni Palestrina, Claudio Monteverdi, John Ness Beck, Howard Helvey and Lutheran composers F. M. Christiansen, Larry Fleming, Robert Wetzler ’54 and René Clausen as well as arrangements of spirituals, folk songs and hymns. The choir also will present a performance of the Holocaust Cantata for choir, piano and cello by Donald McCullough, featuring cello soloist Jaime Kirchhofer of Hadley, Pa.
In his 13th year as director of choral activities, Bray conducts the Thiel Choir and Chamber Singers and the Thiel College Handbell Ringers, as well as teaches private instruction in voice, music theory, music history and conducting.
The choir performs annually for audiences predominantly in the eastern United States and tours internationally every four years.
