31 INDUCTED INTO SOPHOMORE HONOR SOCIETY AT THIEL COLLEGE

Lambda Sigma InducteesGREENVILLE, PA—On Saturday, March 28, 31 students were inducted into Thiel College’s chapter of the Lambda Sigma Society, the national honor society for sophomores.

Emmanuel Torgby of Ghana also became a member of the honorary.

Dr. Robert C. Olson ’60, president of Thiel College, was inducted as an honorary member of the society due to his exemplification of the society’s precepts of scholarship, leadership and service. Olson lives in Mercer.

Officers also were elected at the ceremony for the coming year. They are Evan Ditty, president; Erica Rinehart, vice president; Jacqueline Hietsch, secretary; Alex Johnson, treasurer; Colton Hutton, fundraising chair; Amy Jane Matchett, service chair; Sarah Conte, ritual chair; Elizabeth Yurky, parliamentarian; and Brittany Hill, student government representative.

 Lambda Sigma Society is a national honor society for second-year men and women dedicated to the purpose of fostering leadership, scholarship, fellowship and the spirit of service among college students, and to promoting the interests of the college or university in every possible way.
