GREENVILLE, PA – Summer is here and school is out. That means it’s time to send your kids to college—the 14th annual College for Kids at Thiel College that is!
College for Kids is a unique summer day camp experience that allows children to stretch their imaginations, creativity and talents; learn new skills; or explore a new topic through a variety of college-type classes on Thiel’s Greenville campus.
Elementary camp runs from Monday, June 23 through Thursday, July 3. A typical elementary camper day begins at 9 a.m. with two classes in the morning before a break for lunch and then two classes in the afternoon, ending at 1:35 p.m. Junior high campers begin their days at 9 a.m. with two classes in the morning, a break for lunch and then two classes in the afternoon, ending at 2:35 p.m. All campers have an opportunity to swim at the Greenville Memorial Pool after classes conclude each day. Please note that lunches are not provided by College for Kids, campers are asked to bring a sack lunch and drink each day.
A wide variety of courses are available, including basketball, creative writing, basket weaving, Web page design, martial arts, Spanish, magic, CSI: CFK and many more.
College for Kids is a nonprofit educational program for children, which was created in 1992 to provide a positive, encouraging environment where young learners can broaden their horizons, expand their knowledge and explore a new interest. College for Kids aims to provide fun educational experiences in a relaxed college setting and encourage increased academic achievement from a young age.
Costs are $210 per camper for elementary camp ($199 if paid by May 23) and $135 per camper for junior high camp ($128 if paid by May 23). Returning and multiple camper discounts are available as well as discounts for Thiel College alumni and employees. Deadlines for registration are June 13 for the elementary camp and June 27 for the junior high camp. Payment and a photo of each camper must accompany the registration forms.
