GREENVILLE, PA –The Thiel Choir will present its home concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 14 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Penn and Clinton streets, Greenville, Pa., concluding the choir’s 55th annual spring tour.
While on tour, the 48-voice choir – under the direction of Dr. Michael Bray, performed at venues in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
The home concert will feature works by Daniel Gawthrop, Johann Sebastian Bach, Carl Heinrich Graun, Paul Manz, Kenneth Jennings, David Dickau, Johannes Brahms and Z. Randall Stroope, as well as Lutheran composers F. Melius Christiansen and Robert Wetzler, and arrangements of hymns and spirituals by Andre Thomas and Moses Hogan.
In his 12th year as director of choral activities, Bray conducts the Thiel Choir and Chamber Singers and the Thiel College Handbell Ringers, as well as teaches private instruction in voice, music theory, music history and conducting.
The choir performs annually for audiences predominantly in the eastern United States and tours internationally every four years. This summer the choir will tour Austria and northern Italy.
