THIEL ANNOUNCES 2007 HOMECOMING SCHEDULE

September 14, 2007

GREENVILLE, Pa. – Thiel College invites all alumni, students, staff and friends of the college to share in the annual Homecoming 2007 celebration from Sept. 28 to 30.

The schedule of events for the weekend is as follows (Please note that the times and locations of several events have changed since the publication of the Homecoming 2007 brochure):

FRIDAY, SEPT. 28

 

8:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.

Alumni Registration—Friends of Art Gallery, Howard Miller Student Center (HMSC)

Sign in here and find out which of your classmates are on campus. Alumni may enter their business cards in a drawing to win prizes.

11 a.m.                                                       

Blue-Gold Golf Scramble—the Greens of Greenville (formerly Greenville Country Club)

Reservations required.

1-3 p.m.

Thiel Archives Open—Library, Second Floor

Browse historic documents from your Thiel years.

2-4 p.m.

Wine Tasting Opening House—40 Eagle Street

New event featuring Volant Mill Winery. Reservations required.

3:30 p.m.

Campus Tour

Sign in at the registration desk for a staff-guided tour or pick up a campus map to explore on your own.

 

5 p.m.

Class of 1957 Dinner—Sawhill-Georgian Room, HMSC

Reservations required.

Alumni Awards Ceremony and Reception—Lutheran Heritage Room, HMSC

this event is dedicated to the memory of eleanor (Demi) kilner ’36

This year’s honorees include Distinguished Alumni award recipients James Davy ’75, Denise (Boustead) Muha ’81, and Edgar Robb ’59; Service to Thiel awardees the Rev. Dr. Albert Gesler Jr. ’56 and the late Arlene (Summerhill) Shultz ’56; and Young Alumnus awardees George Heald ’00 and Ryan Gloyer ’04. Reservations are required.

Elegant hors d’oeuvres and gourmet cuisine served prior to the William A. Robinson Theater Opening. Reunion class photos for years ending in “2”and “7” will be taken. Reservations required.

SUNDAY, SEPT. 30

10 a.m.

Farewell Breakfast & Homecoming Service—David Johnson Memorial Chapel

Breakfast will be served in the Chapel lobby with morning worship service to follow at 11 a.m., which includes the Service of Remembrance, a reading of the memorial roster of those alumni who have passed away in the last year.
