Thiel College will host a public lecture on Iraq from noon to 1:15 p.m. Thursday, April 5, in the Lutheran Heritage Room of the Howard Miller Student Center.

Speaker Dr. Christina Michelmore, professor of history at Chatham College in Pittsburgh, will speak on the current situation in Iraq.  An expert on modern Middle East history, she is a regular contributor to The Post-Gazette and lectures frequently in the Pittsburgh area on Middle Eastern affairs.  She has language training in Arabic and Turkish and has spent six years living and working in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Pakistan.

She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and her bachelor’s from Smith College.
