GREENVILLE, PA – Thiel College Campus Pastor the Rev. Dr. Paul A. Baglyos will receive the Concordia Historical Institute Award of Commendation at a ceremony on Nov. 9 at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis.
The Concordia Historical Institute Awards Committee grants awards to congregations, agencies, boards or individuals for a historical publication, a unique contribution to Lutheran literature or for personal service in the field of Lutheran archival and historical work and support.
Baglyos was chosen for the award for a paper he wrote, “The Muhlenbergs Become Americans,” which appeared in the spring 2005 issue of Lutheran Quarterly. He is one of 17 selected to receive the award.
Baglyos is a member of the Lutheran Historical Society, the Lutheran Historical Conference, the Organization of American Historians, and the Society of the Holy Trinity. Several ecclesiastical journals – including Lutheran Quarterly and Concordia Historical Institute Quarterly – have published his many essays and book reviews.
Baglyos has been campus pastor since 2001.
