HOMECOMING QUEEN, KING NAMED

Oct. 7, 2006

KINGQUEEN

Molly Darr of Kane, Pa., and David Bradley of Aliquippa, Pa., have been crowned Thiel College’s 2006 Homecoming Queen and King.

Darr is a senior elementary education major and performing arts minor.  She is a member of Thiel Players, Thiel Choir, Chamber Choir, Student Government Association, Thiel Activities Board and the Alpha Xi Delta sorority.  She also participates in track and field. 

Darr has been named to the dean’s list and Who’s Who Among American College Students, and has received the Greek Week Scholar Award.  She is a member of the honorary societies Alpha Chi, Order of Omega, Les Lauriers, and Kappa Delta Pi.  A 2003 graduate of Kane High School, she is the daughter of John and Christy Darr.

Bradley is a senior psychology major.  He is a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity and the Organization of Black Collegiates (OBC).  He is active with the competitive cheer and dance teams and teaches hip hop dance to members of the children’s Kool Kittens squad.

Bradley, the son of Ramelle Freeman, is a 2003 graduate of Aliquippa High School.

SENIORS:

Opeyemi Joanne Akele of Jersey City, N.J., is a senior business administration and accounting major.  She is the vice president of Organization of Black Collegiates and has been named to the dean’s list.  The daughter of Grace Falana, she is a 2003 graduate of St. Anthony High School. 

Geno Bianco of Pittsburgh is a senior mathematics and secondary education major.  A member of the men’s basketball team, Bianco has been named to the dean’s list and the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll. He is the son of David and Susan Betz.

Christopher Brown of Charlotte, N.C., is a senior religion major and theatre minor.  He is president of Thiel Players and is in the Thiel Choir and Chamber Choir.  He is active in Men’s Leadership and is a director on the Thiel Activities Board.  He belongs to the honorary societies Order of Omega and Alpha Psi Omega and has been named to the dean’s list.  A 2003 graduate of Zion Lutheran Christian School, he is the son of Peter and Ann Brown.

Tara Clausen of Wernersville, Pa., is a senior English literature/secondary education major.  She is a member of Chi Omega sorority and serves on its executive board.  She is editor of the newsletter The Greek Column, is technical assistant for the Thiel Players, and is a resident assistant.  She belongs to honorary societies Sigma Tau Delta, Les Lauriers, and Order of Omega.  She has been named to the dean’s list and participated in the leadership workshop Leadershape. The daughter of Richard and Denise Clausen, she is a 2003 graduate of Cocalico High School in Denver, Pa. 

Ben Reinke of Warren, Pa. He is the son of Michael and Susan Reinke.

Morgan Tamburro of Pittsburgh is a senior psychology major.  She is a resident assistant, general manager of the Thiel Activities Board, and active in the Student Government Association.  She is president of academic honoraries Psi Chi and Les Lauriers and is a member of Chi Alpha Epsilon.  She has been named to the dean’s list and Who’s Who Among American College Students, and is a nationally certified student leader.  A 2003 graduate of Penn Hills Senior High School, she is the daughter of Ralph and Debra Tamburro.

JUNIORS

 

LeAnna Barnhart of Canfield, Ohio, is a junior business administration and mortuary science major.  She is a member of Thiel Players, Thiel Activities Board, and the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.   A  2004 graduate of Struthers High School, she is the daughter of Larry and Gina Barnhart.

Jonathan Keller of Lower Burrell, Pa., is a junior computer science major.  He is a member of the wrestling team and is the recipient of the Haller Enterprise Scholarship.  He is the son of William and Mary Keller.

SOPHOMORES

Katherine DeGeorge of Butler, Pa., is a sophomore psychology major and journalism minor. She is active with peer mentoring and is a member of the Organization of Black Collegiates.  She participates in track and field and is captain of the women’s squad. A 2005 graduate of Butler High School, she is the daughter of Thomas DeGeorge and Debbie Adams.

David Duran of Columbia, Md., is a sophomore.  He is a member of the track and field team.

 

FRESHMEN

 

Melissa Spence of Cranberry Township, Pa., is a freshman psychology major and art minor.  She is a member of the Art Club.  A 2006 graduate of Seneca Valley High School, she is the daughter of Ray and Diana Spence.

Joe Reinke is a freshman from Warren, Pa.  He is the son of Michael and Susan Reinke.
