Choir and Community Singers Perform Friday

GREENVILLE, PA – The
Thiel College Choir and singers from the local community will join
in a performance scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 21, at First
Presbyterian Church, 323 Main St., Greenville.
The concert – the 11th annual collaborative performance – will
feature 20th century works by American composers. The main choral
work featured on the program is A New Creation, a cantata by
Lutheran composer René Clausen, accompanied by organist Kathryn
Gray and a chamber orchestra. The Thiel College Chamber
Singers and the Thiel College Handbell Ringers will also perform at
the concert.
The concert will feature four soloists, Lisa Demarest, Dr.
Frank Cano and Valerie Vernon, all of Greenville,
and Tom Scurich of Youngstown, Ohio.
All ensembles will be conducted by Dr. Michael R. Bray, professor of
music at Thiel and director of the Thiel Choir.
