THIEL COLLEGE HOMECOMING COURT ANNOUNCED

The 2005 Thiel College
Homecoming Court members are, in front from left, junior Emily Eckert, freshman Danielle Reger, sophomore Rosie
Prosser, and seniors Shelby Spence, Nikki Colpo, Anne Orelli and Karen Scroggins. In back from left are seniors
Jonas Hatajik, Jason Shazer, Ben Wheeler and Rich Hunt. Missing are freshman Fritz Randolph, sophomore Brenton
Moyers and junior Anthony McDonald. The king and queen will be crowned during a bonfire celebration at 9 p.m.

GREENVILLE, PA -Thiel College will announce its 2005 Homecoming king and queen at a bonfire scheduled for 9 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 7, in the freshman quad.
Senior candidates for queen are Nicole Colpo of Sarver, Pa., Anne
Orelli of New Castle, Pa., Karen Scroggins
of Bedford Heights, Ohio, and Shelby Spence of Cranberry Township, Pa.
Seniors vying for the king's crown are Jonas Hatajik of Natrona Heights, Pa., Richard
Hunt of Cleveland, Jason
Shazer of Coraopolis, Pa., and Benjamin Wheeler
of Greenville.
Members of the 2005 court include:
JUNIORS

Colpo,
a business administration and business communication major, is a 2002 graduate of Freeport High School in Freeport,
Pa. She is a member of Sigma Kappa sorority and is active with the dance team and cheerleading squad. She has
been named to the dean's list and is a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee and the Panhellenic Council
advisory board. She also belongs to Order of Omega, the Greek honorary society. She also serves as a choreographer
for Thiel Players. She is the daughter of Mark and Joanne Colpo of Sarver.
Orelli,
a psychology and juvenile and family justice major at Thiel, is a 2002 graduate of New Castle High School. At
Thiel she is a member of the psychology honorary society Psi Chi, has been named to the dean's list and is a member
of the Psychology Club. She serves as president of her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta, and is a member of the Order
of Omega, the Greek honorary society. She is the daughter of Robin Orelli of New Castle and the late Ernie Orelli.
Scroggins,
a business administration and accounting major, is a 2002 graduate of Bedford High School. She is the recipient
of the Haller Scholarship and has been named to the dean's list. She is a member of the Organization of Black
Collegians and the Thiel Activities Board and she is active with track and field. She is the daughter of Mary
Scroggins of Bedford Heights and the late David Scroggins.
Spence,
an English major seeking her secondary education teaching certification, is a 2002 graduate of Seneca Valley High
School in Jackson Township, Pa. She is a member of the senior honorary Les Lauriers and the sophomore honorary
Lambda Sigma and has been named to the dean's list. She is the recipient of the Sebastian Mueller Scholarship
and also is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the English honorary society. She is vice president of the Chi Omega
sorority, is assistant editor of the yearbook, and a member of the Order of Omega, the Greek honorary society.
She is the daughter of Ray and Diana Spence of Cranberry Township.
Hatajik,
a business communication major, is a 2002 graduate of Highlands High School in Natrona Heights. He has been named
to the dean's list, is president of the Greek Council and Student Government Association secretary. He is active
with the wrestling team and is a member of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. He is the son of Debra Hatajik and Robert
Hatajik, both of Natrona Heights.
Hunt,
an art major with a minor in chemistry, is a 2002 graduate of Benedictine High School in Cleveland. He is the
recipient of the Haller Scholarship and is a member of the American Chemical Society. He is active with Habitat
for Humanity, International Student Organization, Organization of Black Collegians, and the Thiel Activities Board.
He is a member of the Art Club and the track and field team. He is the son of Jacqueline Shakir of Cleveland and
the late Richard Hunt. He is the grandson of Dorothea V. Lacey of Cleveland.
Shazer,
a business communication and business administration major, is a 2002 graduate of Cornell High School in Coraopolis.
A Haller Scholarship recipient and dean's list honoree, he is a member of Lambda Pi Eta, the national speech honorary,
and Chi Eta Sigma, the commerce honorary. He is a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and serves on the
Greek Council and the Interfraternity Council. He also belongs to the Order of Omega, the Greek honorary society.
He is the son of Dennis and Karen Shazer of Coraopolis.
Wheeler,
a math and computer science major, is a 2002 graduate of Greenville High School. He is a member of Alpha Chi, the
highest academic honor a student can achieve at Thiel. He also is a member of the senior honorary Les Lauriers,
the sophomore honorary Lambda Sigma and has been named to the dean's list. He is the recipient of the Thiel Presidential
Scholarship and the Haller Scholarship and is a member of the national mathematics honorary Kappa Mu Epsilon. He
has also been named to the Presidents' Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll. He serves as editor of the yearbook,
is on the student newspaper staff and is active with Men's Leadership and Circle K. He belongs to the track and
field and cross country teams and is a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. He also is a member of the Order of
Omega, the Greek honorary society. He is the son of Barry and Patti Wheeler of Greenville.
Eckert,
a 2003 graduate of Nordonia High School in Macedonia, Ohio, is an English major seeking secondary education teaching
certification. She has been named to the dean's list and is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the English honorary
society. She is a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority and the Art Club and is active with the women's golf team.
She is the daughter of James and Dana Eckert of Sagamore Hills.
McDonald,
a 2003 graduate of Bedford High School in Bedford, Ohio, is a chemistry major seeking secondary education teaching
certification. He is a recipient of the Thiel Merit Award. He is the son of Mark and Leslie McDonald of Oakwood
Village.
Prosser,
a 2004 graduate of Woodland Hills High School in Pittsburgh, is a history major seeking her secondary education
teaching certification. Named to the dean's list, she is also a member of Lambda Sigma, the sophomore honorary.
She is a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority, Thiel Players, Thiel Choir, Thiel Chamber Singers and the Thiel
Activities Board. She is the daughter of Lee and Eileen Prosser of North Braddock.
Moyers,
a 2004 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Canton, Ohio, is a biology major with a chemistry minor. He
is a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, the American Chemical Society and the Thiel Activities Board. He is
the son of Glen and Myrna Moyers of Navarre.
Reger,
a 2005 graduate of Hempfield Area High School in Greensburg, Pa., is Spanish and math major seeking secondary education
teaching certification. She is a member of the cheerleading squad. She is the daughter of Ken and Beth Reger of
Youngwood.
Randolph, a 2005 graduate of Iroquois High School in Erie, is a history major seeking secondary education teaching
certification. He is the son of Benny and Paula Randolph of Erie. |
