CONSERVATIONIST WERBACH TO SPEAK AT
THIEL

GREENVILLE, PA - Adam Werbach, former Sierra Club president and well-known
conservationist, will be a guest lecturer at Thiel College at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 in the Lutheran Heritage Room
of the Howard Miller Student Center.
At age 23 Werbach was elected president of the Sierra Club, America's oldest, largest and most influential grassroots
environmental organization. While Werbach served as president, the Sierra Club protected more than two million
acres of land and helped to pass one of the strongest clean air standards.
Most recently Werbach served as executive director of the Common Assets Defense Fund and is the president and co-founder
of Act Now Productions, which develops digital television and also streaming and downloadable media for internet
sites.
Werbach hosted the Outdoor Life Network's environmental newsmagazine "Thin Green Line" and appeared on numerous
television programs including ABC's "Politically Incorrect."
Werbach is the author of "Act Now, Apologize Later" and has appeared in such publications as The New York Times,
People, LA Times, Newsweek, and Time.
