"We felt these programs would be a great way for members of the community to meet our international students," said Shannon Reesh, director of international student services. "This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about their cultures, beliefs and ideas." "Spice It Up!," which will be held monthly, will feature one of the college's international students who will prepare a dish authentic to his or her native county. Audience members will have the opportunity to taste test the dishes and will be given copies of the recipe used during the program. Tenzin Kunkhyen, a Tibetan student at Thiel, will kick off the series at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, by preparing a coconut curry dish. In the "Discover" series, which also will be held monthly, a group of international students will share information about their homeland, providing visual aids as part of their presentations. A question and answer session will follow each presentation. Teas and coffee will be served. "Discover Sri Lanka," the first in the series, will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25 in the Weyers Student Lounge in the Howard Miller Student Center.
