Tajikistan Scholar
to Speak at Thiel on Nov. 8

GREENVILLE, PA - Dr. Kamoludin Abdullaev, a scholar from Tajikistan, will present a public lecture
at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, in the Sawhill-Georgian Room in Thiel College's Howard Miller Student Center. Abdullaev's
lecture is part of the Fulbright Visiting Specialist Program: Direct Access to the Muslim World.
Abdullaev is the author of numerous books and professional articles on 20th century nationalist
and Muslim movements in central Asia. Abdullaev was born in Tajikistan and educated at Tajik State University and
the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Institute of History of the USSR.
The Fulbright Visiting Specialists Program is designed to promote understanding of the Muslim
world and civilization by providing opportunities for U.S. colleges and universities to host specialists from the
Muslim world for short-term programs of intensive lecturing and public outreach.
Sponsored by the Thiel College Political Science Department in cooperation with Allegheny College,
the event is free and open to the public.
