Funded by the National Science Foundation's Division of Atmospheric Science, this summer program offers a select group of undergraduate students the opportunity to work as research assistants with active research faculty at an institution of international excellence. Some of the areas of ongoing research include: studies of cometary and planetary atmospheres using computer modeling, analysis of spacecraft and sounding rocket data, theoretical and experimental studies of the dynamics and chemistry of the Earth's atmosphere, and analysis of data from instruments deployed at remote stations. A junior mathematics major at Thiel College in Greenville, Pa., Sheridan is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sheridan. She plans to attend graduate school and pursue a career in meteorology.
