THIEL COLLEGE CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL IS DECEMBER 5

GREENVILLE, PA - The annual Thiel College Christmas Festival will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5 in the William A. Passavant Memorial Center on the Thiel College campus.

Performing will be the Thiel Choir, the Thiel College Chamber Singers, and the Thiel College Handbell Ringers, all under the direction of Dr.Michael R. Bray, professor of music, and the Thiel College Band directed by Jeffrey Hvizdos.

The concert, "Welcome Yule," will feature works by William Mathias, Zoltan Kodaly, John Rutter, F. Melius Christiansen, and carols and music of the Christmas season.

The concert is free and the public is encouraged to come and welcome in the yule season. For further information call 724-589-2149.

'LIGHTING THE WAY' CEREMONY OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
For immediate release November 18, 2004

GREENVILLE, PA - Thiel College will hold a special holiday season lighting ceremony and worship service during its "Lighting the Way" event at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2 on the college campus.

Held the first week in Advent, the evening will begin with a brief worship service featuring scripture readings and Advent hymns in the Rotunda Bistro area of the Howard Miller Student Center. Individual candles will be distributed and lit before processing to the Howard Miller Student Center terrace for the lighting of Brother Martin's Walk.

The Rev. Dr. Paul A. Baglyos, campus pastor, will officiate. The college's Chamber Singers, under the direction of Dr. Michael Bray, professor of music, will perform. Also performing will be the Gospel Choir under the direction of Thiel student Joshua Lyles, a senior from Warren, Ohio.

Refreshments will be served on the terrace following the ceremony. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the lot behind the William A. Passavant Memorial Center.

JAZZ CONCERT AT PASSAVANT CENTER WILL BENEFIT FLOOD VICTIMS
For immediate release November 8, 2004

GREENVILLE, PA - The Thiel College Activities Board will sponsor a flood relief benefit concert featuring the Trinity Jazz Orchestra at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14 in the college's William A. Passavant Memorial Center.

The 20-piece Big Band orchestra from New Brighton, Pa., will perform several numbers from jazz greats. Several musicians hail from the local area.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Salvation Army Disaster Assistance and will be used to assist local flood disaster victims.

The event is free and open to the public, although a goodwill offering will be accepted.

ANNUAL CULTURE SHOW IS NOV. 11

GREENVILLE, PA - Thiel College and the International Student Organization (ISO) will present the fifth annual Culture Show from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11 in the Lutheran Heritage Room of the college's Howard Miller Student Center.

The annual program highlights the diverse student population of the college with demonstrations, songs, dances and costumes.

The event is free and open to the public. Families with children are encouraged to attend. Seating is first come, first served.

CAMPUS, LOCAL POLICE UNITE FOR TOYS FOR TOTS DRIVE

GREENVILLE, PA - The Thiel Campus Police and Greenville-West Salem
Township Police will team up for the second year to conduct the Toys for
Tots drive in Greenville.

New toys, which will be distributed to children in the Greenville-Mercer
County area, will be collected through Dec. 9.

"Our students and campus family, along with the citizens of Greenville,
did a great job last year and I am looking forward to this year's Toys
for Tots campaign," said Thiel Police Chief Donald Aubrecht. "Last year
we were able to collect so many toys and make the holiday a happy one
for so many families."

Anyone wishing to drop off new toys can do so at the Thiel Public Safety
Building, Packard Avenue, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or at the
Greenville-West Salem Township Police Department at the intersection of
Main and Water streets.

U.S. Marine Corps representatives will pick up the toys on Dec. 10.
