International Student Orientation is offered prior to the beginning of both the fall and the spring semesters to all new, international students. The orientation program has been designed to be comprehensive and to assist students with their cultural adjustment. Orientation is mandatory for all new incoming international and exchange students.
During orientation you will do the following:

Take the Thiel College Michigan English Placement Test

Register for your classes

Learn about the Conversation Leader Program

Discover more about the US classroom environment

Find out more about American culture
-
Receive information about the Thiel Host Family Program

Understand culture shock symtoms and how to adjust to studying abroad

Learn about the mandatory international student health insurance
-
Receive your mailbox key and the US postal services offered on and off campus
-
Meet current international students and make new friends
-
Receive your student lap top
-
Get your student identification card
-
Select and purchase your textbooks
-
Set-up a checking account with PNC Bank
-
Shop at a local outlet mall Grove City Premium Outlet Mall

Dinner with Thiel student leaders

*All newly arriving international and exchange students will be picked up from the Pittsburgh International Airport and should plan to arrive on one of the following dates:
