2012-13 Shuttle Schedule and Academic Breaks Procedure

Overview

Thiel College will offer a shuttle service to the Pittsburgh Airport and downtown Pittsburgh bus/train stations during academic breaks only. The shuttle will only operate on certain days at specific times for a fee of $40 one way. Reservations must be received in the Student Life Office one week in advance. Late reservations will be accepted on a space available basis for a fee of $60 one way. Cancellations (with 50% refund) will only be accepted with 48 hours notice of shuttle departure time.

Note: Shuttles will depart Thiel College promptly at times indicated. Return shuttle from airport/bus stations will depart 15 minutes after time indicated - no waiting for delays or cancellations. Students should keep a copy of the Alternative Transportation Resources with them when traveling for reference as needed.

Important: Check the shuttle schedule closely before making airline or bus reservations. Please allow four hours for travel time and security checks. For returns to campus, please consider delays that may occur.

Alternative Transportation Resources

Visit their website for Pittsburgh Airport, Amtrak and Greyhound Bus Station. Reservations must be made weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Emergency contact for after hours is 724-290-6693.) Credit card only. Car service is also offered for other locations within the area.

Ride Board

The Thiel College Ride Board is a forum where Thiel students may post requests for rides that are needed and rides being offered. The Ride Board is located in the Student Life Office. Transportation arrangements are made between students–the Student Life Office is not involved or responsible. If this forum does not work out, students should refer to the other alternatives listed above.
