SIGMA KAPPA SORORITY Gamma Delta Chapter
About Sigma Kappa: For over 125 years, Sigma Kappa has been uniting women in lifelong friendships and creating a sisterhood that has encompassed thousands, across generations, and around the world. Founded at Colby College in Waterville, Maine, in 1874, Sigma Kappa’s goal has been to help each member develop her greatest potential through academic success, personal growth, sisterhood, and philanthropic service. Within a supportive environment, each Sigma Kappa is expected to do her best and help other sisters achieve all they can as well. The Gamma Delta chapter at Thiel College was founded in 1954. At Thiel the Sigma Kappa sisters are involved in many on-campus organizations and hold various leadership positions. The sisters also take part in the community, working with the clients at a nearby nursing home and taking part in the Adopt-A-Highway program. They also participate in many sorority activities, such as formals, informals, and retreats. “Our bond continues to bring us together over the years, to share experiences, to serve others, and to have fun. With Sigma Kappa, college is the beginning of a sisterhood that lasts a lifetime.” Contact Information: Emily Petrak President epetrak@thiel.edu Becky Crawford VP of Membership (Recruitment Chair) rcrawfordi@thiel.edu Kourtney Polvinale VP of Philanthropic Service kpolvinale@thiel.edu Jessica Yozwiak Social Chairwoman jyozwiak@thiel.edu Amanda Baur VP of Alumnae Relations abaur@thiel.edu
