The Thiel College Greek community presents never-ending opportunites for expanding leadership skills of its members that cannot be found in other types of organizations. Each organization is self-governed and relies on the individual talents and leadership skills of its members to run efficiently and effectively. The Greek community offers its students the ability to become well rounded graduates through various opportunities at the chapter, campus community, and national level. The available leadership roles give students the opportunity to gain priceless experience in managing time, balancing budgets, public speaking abilities, working as a team, running meetings and organizing and participating in various events.
Order of Omega
Order of Omega is a leadership honor society for members of Greek organizations. Order of Omega recognizes juniors and seniors who have exemplified high standards in the areas of scholarship, leadership, involvement within their respective organization and within the Greek, campus, and local community. Members are selected from the top three percent of the students of the institution.
The Tau Omega chapter of Order of Omega was founded at Thiel College on December 3, 2004. Since then, it has inducted many exceptional students and is becoming a very prominent organization within the Greek and campus community.
Order of Omega has chosen the Crawford County Special Olympics as their philanthropy. the organization supports the SOPACC by sponsoring and participating in an annual bowl-a-thon with children with intellectual disabilities, giving them opportunities to grow. The organization has also raised money for the Special Olympics and cheered the athletes on at various sporting events.
Order of Omega also offers scholarships to members through their national organization. Applications are available each fall.
