INTERFRATERNITY COUNCIL, IFC (Men) A Fraternity is an organization of men who devote themselves to higher principles like Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Brotherhood. Brotherhood especially is an extremely significant aspect of fraternities and is eternal. You will have a place that many years after graduation you will be able to return to and be with brothers from your time here. There is no other organization like this at Thiel College. Each fraternity at Thiel has their own identity and is unique in their own way. Each concentrates on their core values and what they want to accomplish in their time at Thiel. The fraternities host social and philanthropic events open to the entire campus and within their own organizations, participate in intramurals, as well as, offer opportunities for professional development with leadership conferences and other programs. Founded in 1909, the North-American Interfraternity Conference is the trade association representing 73 international and national men's fraternities. Through advocacy, collaboration and education, the NIC works to ensure that fraternities can operate in an environment conducive to their success. Leadership for the NIC is provided by a nine-member Board of Directors. IFC, Interfraternity Council, belongs to the NIC and is the governing body for fraternity life on campus. It is comprised of three members from each fraternity. For more information about the NIC please feel free to visit their website at www.nicindy.org.
