Office for International Students Affairs
The Office for International Student Affairs (ISA)supports current and incoming international students with their cultural, educational, and social transition into the Thiel community.
Our office promotes cultural awareness and connects domestic and international students in order to foster an appreciation for international and American cultures. Additionally, we provide services necessary to meet the unique needs of international students and serve as an advocate for the international student population.
The Office of International Student Services provides monthly programming for all international students including holiday and cultural celebrations. Each month activities are planned for on-campus and off-campus enrichment. The programming helps provide our international students to see the world from another place while expanding and diversifying their perspective, communication skills, self-awareness, adaptability, and creativity.
The Thiel College Host Family Program matches an International Student or Students with a friendship family in the Greenville community or surrounding area. All host family voluntarily take part in background checks to ensure a positive cultural experience for the student(s) they are hosting. It is our hope that the relationship that develops between students and their friendship family will help expand cultural awareness and create lifelong global friendships.

The Conversation Leader Program is intended to be one-on-one meetings (maximum of 3 hours per week) between an international student and their leader. Each leader will be assigned 1-3 international students. There are social events planned for students, but leaders and students often take initiative to make further plans if desired. Leaders will describe activities along with the submission of their timesheets for compensation. There will be group meetings (The leader with students) to discuss how the leaders and students have been getting along. The program aims to make transitioning into American culture easier for international students.
