Darren Kaus

Darren Kaus begins his eighth season at Thiel, serving as the Head Athletic Trainer for all 15 varsity sports. In addition to his duties as an Athletic Trainer, Kaus is also a pitching coach with the softball team and serves on the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) medical hardship waiver committee.

Kaus received his bachelor's degree at Lake Superior State University where he was an Assistant Athletic Trainer for its Division I ice hockey team. After his time at Lake Superior State he spent one season as the Head Athletic Trainer at Muskegon High School in Michigan while working for the Hackley Hospital sports medicine department.

Kaus is contracted to Thiel through UPMC Horizon Hospital and works closely with the school's consulting physicians, Dr. John Scullin and Dr. Stuart Anderson.

Kaus and his wife, Melinda, along with their daughter, Lauren, reside in Slippery Rock.
