Justin Napotnik '04 earned four lettersa as a member of the football team. Napotnin was twice named to the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) as a running back, ended his career third on the college's all-time rushing list with 2,192 yards and is also third in career rushing attempts with 495. Napotnik was honored on December 9, 2003 as a member of College Football's 2003 National Scholar-Athlete Class, selected by The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. The National Scholar-Athlete Class of 2003 includes student-athletes from all NCAA Divisipons, I-A, I-AA, II, III and NAIA. Napotnik, along with the other 14 members of the class, were honored for their achievements, both on the football field and in the classroom, with each receiving an $18,000 post-graduate scholarship. In the classroom Napotnik maintained a 3.96 GPA as a Biolgy/Pre-Med major. He was a recipient of the Dean's Key by being named to the Dean's List each of his eight semesters at Thiel. Napotnik was responsible for directing the initiative of the football team in sponsoring a child in East India through the organization Compassion International. He also served as the director for the team's annual Youth Camp offered to children from the local area. |
