Kum-Nji
was a four-year starter and two-time captain of the Tomcat football
team. Kum-Nji was selected as an all-Presidents' Athletic Conference
(PAC) performer four times, earning first-team honors from his
sophomore season through his senior season. A biology major,
Kum-Nji was a stanout in the classroom, earning the William B.
Frank Minority Scholarship in the physical sciences. The Scholarship
is a four-year, tuition-free scholarship awarded to an incoming
freshman minority who has a strong foundation in the sciences
and/or mathematics, ranks in the top 40 percent of their graduating
class and has an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. After the 2004
season, he was named to the all-South region third team defensive
team by the Football Gazette and earned a spot on the College
Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) District II
Academic all-America second team. Kum-Nji is the school's career
record-holder in sacks (27.0) and is second all-time in tackles
for loss (45.5). |
