Chambers was a four-year letter winner and three-year starter with the Tomcat football team. He currently holds all-time records in receptions (203), touchdown receptions (34), receiving yards (3,406) and points (212). He finished a brilliant 2005 campaign sixth among Division III counterparts in both receptions per game (8.2) and receiving yards per game (126.2).
Chambers was a three-time all-Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) selection and a two-time Don Hansen’s Football Gazette all-American. In 2005 he was named a D3football.com South Region Co-Offensive Player of the Year and went on to earn all-American honors by the Division III football website.
He finished the 2005 season with 90 catches for 1,388 yards and 16 touchdowns, helping guide the Tomcats to an 11-1 overall record, an undefeated 10-0 regular-season record, the program's first conference title since 1972 and its first-ever NCAA Division III playoff victory. The 10-0 regular-season mark was the program's first undefeated season since 1950. |
