Dan HessLATROBE, Pa. (Nov. 10) -- Thiel College junior running back Dan Hess (Apollo/Kiski Area) saved his best effort for last this season, posting 327 yards and five touchdowns on 43 carries in the Tomcats' 62-14 win over Saint Vincent College Saturday afternoon at Chuck Noll Field in Latrobe. The Tomcats rolled up 709 yards of total offense on 85 plays against the Bearcats, fifth-most in Division III this season. The squad also combined for 514 rushing yards on 67 attempts, seventh-most among Division III counterparts this season.

Hess' 327-yard performance is the highest rushing output of any Division III runner this season (through games played Nov. 3). Along with setting school single-game standards in rushing yards, rushing attempts and rushing touchdowns, he also posted a school-record 30 points in Saturday's win. He averaged 7.6 yards-per-carry on the afternoon. Hess is just 33 yards shy of reaching 2,000 rushing yards in his career. 48-0 over the next 41:36. Their 62 points are the most scored in a single game since Sept. 11, 1999, when the Tomcats posted a 63-12 win at Oberlin College.
