THIEL'S HENDRICKS NAMED TO AFCA ALL-AMERICAN TEAM

GREENVILLE, Pa. (Dec. 13) -- Thiel College senior offensive lineman Dave Hendricks (Rockton/DuBois) was named to the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III All-America Team Tuesday.

Hendricks is the first Tomcat to receive an all-American selection by the AFCA. He is slated to represent the United States versus Mexico in the Aztec Bowl this Saturday in Toluca, Mexico. The kickoff is set for 2:00 pm EST and the game can be heard live via the internet at http://www.tsrnsports.com/Broadcast/Broad-U-AztecBowl.htm.

A two-time all-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) first-team selection, Hendricks and the Tomcats finished the 2005 season with an 11-1 mark, won their first PAC title since 1972 and made their first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III playoffs. Hendricks, who started 44 total games during his career, anchored an offensive line that helped Thiel average more than 400 yards of total offense per game this season.

The AFCA Division III Coaches’ All-America Team is made up of players from NCAA Division III institutions. The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all four of its divisions.
