GREENVILLE, Pa. (August 14, 2008) – The Thiel College football team opened its preseason camp Thursday morning with 86 players taking to the turf at Alumni Stadium. The three-hour session consisted of non- and light-contact drills with players expected to transition to full pads – and contact – over the next few days.
Head coach Jack Leipheimer, who is overseeing his eighth preseason camp, was pleased with his team’s first day back on campus.
“It's awfully early to tell about the X's and O's, but the attitude of the team is impressive,” said Leipheimer. “Our guys are attentive, upbeat, and giving great effort. I'm very encouraged by what I have seen thus far.”
