Diane provides academic counseling and advising to new program freshmen and upperclassmen on academic probation. She is the liaison between the Academic Sucess Center/Act 101 Program and the Department of Athletics, contacting coaches and athletic administration on a regular basis regarding student-athletes' academic progress and program participation. Diane serves as an advisor for the campus-wide First Year Experience program teaching a fall seminar course titled, Oh, the Places You'll
Go; During the spring semester Diane teaches an Academic Success class to second semester freshmen placed on academic probation. Diane also serves as the advisor to the Chi Alpha Epsilon National Honor Society.
Diane earned a B.S. degree in Communication Arts/English and Secondary Education from Clarion University of PA and a M.A. degree in Student Personnel from Slippery Rock University. She is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), the National Association of Developmental Education (NADE), and the Pennsylvania Association of Developmental Education (PADE). She has presented workshops at NADE, First Year Experience, and Act 101 statewide conferences. |

Carol is an Academic Advisor in the Academic Success Center / Act 101 Program, teaches an Academic Success workshop to second semester freshmen placed on academic probation, and coordinates the Supplemental Instruction and Peer Assisted Learning programs. Prior to Thiel, Carol served as director of a countywide drug and alcohol treatment/prevention/DUI program and supervisor of an intensive treatment unit for juvenile offenders. Carol enjoys family and outdoor activities (hiking, bicycling, camping, gardening), films, theatre and traveling.
Carol graduated from Thiel College with a B.A. in Sociology and is currently enrolled in the Academic Advisor Graduate Certificate Program at Kansas State University. She is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), the National Association of Developmental Education (NADE), and the Pennsylvania Association of Developmental Education (PADE). |

Amy Petrucci-Effinite

Amy received her B.S. and M.Ed. from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. She holds certifications in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Special Education. At Thiel Amy is an Academic Advisor and Act 101 Counselor and the Mentoring Coordinator through the Academic Success Center / Act 101 Programs. During the fall, Amy serves as an advisor and an instructor through the Freshman Year Seminar at Thiel. In the spring, she teaches study strategies to freshmen placed on academic probation.
Amy is a member of the National Academic Sdvising Association (NACADA), National Association of Developmental Education (NADE), and Pennsylvania Association of Developmental Education (PADE). She has presented at both regional and national NACADA Conferences as well as at NADE. |

Barb is a life-long resident of Greenville and a graduate of Greenville High School. She has been employed by Thiel since 1989 as a office manager in the Academic Success Center / Act 101 Program. Barb is married and has two sons, Scott who currently resides in Warren, OH with his wife, Amy, and Nicholas, a senior music education major at Youngstown State University. Barb enjoys gardening, attending concerts and spending time with her family and pets. |
