What is SI?

• Peer assisted study sessions
• Weekly review sessions for challenging classes
• Open to all students in the course
• Run by a student leader who has already taken the course and works closely with the professor
• Study strategies that work for the class and the professor
• An opportunity to study with classmates in an informal atmosphere

How Does SI Work?

Student Leaders attend class with you and do all the work that you do and then conduct weekly review sessions which:

• Begin the second week of classes and are conducted three times per week throughout the entire semester;
• Are held at convenient days and times around your schedule;
• Are voluntary. You can attend as many or as few as you choose;
• Involve students using discussion, supplemental worksheets and practice exams.
  

College is demanding and the key to success is using effective study skills. Supplemental Instruction (SI) can provide students with an opportunity to learn course material and practice study strategies in an interactive and relaxed setting.
