As an Act 101 institution, Thiel College offers its students the opportunity to participate in a unique program. Established by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in 1971, this program is designed to provide academic assistance for students who have disadvantages in the areas of income and academics. Students seeking admission to college who lack adequate funds, who have weak performance on standardized tests, or who have a low high school GPA are eligible for a variety of services to promote their academic success.

Services:

• Academic Counseling to help students realize their personal and educational goals
• Tutorial Services to develop understanding of content and to improve academic skills required in college
• Assistance with scheduling courses each semester
• Priority placement in the College 101 Seminar course
• Assistance through the Writing Lab, Math Lab, Peer
• Assisted Learning, Supplemental Instruction, Disabilities
• Services, and other services available to all Thiel students
• Cultural Event access
• Book Voucher available

All services are provided without additional charges. Students must meet residence and income level requirements. However, for those students not meeting these two requirements, the college itself provides similar services.
