I Heart Thiel

The annual dome opening party, I Heart Thiel Day, on Dec. 7 was a rousing success. Many thanks to those who helped make the event a reality and those who came to celebrate with us. You can check out photos from the event on Flickr and visit Facebook to watch the winning "I Heart Thiel" videos by Kateri Linn, Cyrill Parham and Haley Hayden.

Pedas Center Update

Pedas Center Update

On Dec. 10, Dr. Jim Pedas '50 and his brother, Ted, visited campus to further discuss plans for the James Pedas Communication Center with members of the Thiel administration, the architects and the Green Building Alliance of Pittsburgh. While plans are still in the "fine tuning" stage, the project is on track for by the Board of Trustees in February and groundbreaking in 2013. If you'd like to learn more about this exciting project and how you can help, contact Sam Siple at 724-589-2842.

Called to Serve

Do you feel called to serve your alma mater? What better way than the Alumni Association Board of Directors! The Alumni Association currently has four vacancies on the board. Members of the Board are expected to be enthusiastic advocates of Thiel College and its alumni association, effective communicators of our mission, and stewards in administering and managing the Alumni Association. Board members attend at least three of four meetings each year, serve on of five standing committees — admissions, career services, development, communication and nominations/awards, represent the interests of the alumni as well as being an advocate for the College to the alumni, and participate in the Thiel Fund.

For more information or to express your interest in serving on this important board, contact Joe Nairn ’79, chair of the nominations committee.

Honor Roll of Generosity Available Online

The 2011-2012 Honor Roll of Generosity is available online! The support of Thiel College's students and mission by our alumni and friends during the past fiscal year enables us to provide the resources and support they need to prepare them for successful futures.
